Malgr&eacute; leurs faibles dimensions, ils affichent une tension minimale d&rsquo;isolation de 3750 Vrms, tandis qu&rsquo;un blindage Faraday interne assure une immunit&eacute; garantie aux transitoires de mode commun de &plusmn;20 kV\/&micro;s. Ils op&egrave;rent avec une tension d&rsquo;alimentation de 3 V &agrave; 20 V et fonctionnent en basse consommation gr&acirc;ce &agrave; un faible courant de seuil en entr&eacute;e de seulement 1,6 mA au maximum. Le courant maximal d&rsquo;alimentation s&rsquo;&eacute;tablit &agrave; tout juste 3 mA. Le d&eacute;lai maximal de propagation de 250 ns supporte des transferts de donn&eacute;es &agrave; haute vitesse jusqu&rsquo;&agrave; 5 Mbit\/s. Ces circuits se composent d&rsquo;une diode &eacute;lectroluminescente (DEL) infrarouge en GaAlAs, coupl&eacute;e optiquement &agrave; un photod&eacute;tecteur &agrave; haute vitesse et gain &eacute;lev&eacute;.
